Bayer Case Study

Client: Bayer

  |   Agency: DDB Health

  |   CGI & Animation: The Operators

Discipline: CGI, Animation, Compositing, Live Action and Retouching

Brief:

Taking the overview of the initial idea and final medium required and to R&D the best solution to create a dynamic campaign that was translatable into the necessary multiple print and digital formats required.

Our Role:

The Operators were brought on board for their problem solving and technical know how of multiple disciplines. Our main role was to formulate and R&D the approach, being considerate to the brand and most importantly the idea. Helping facilitate and enhancing the overall campaign with technical excellence.

Production / Solution:

The Operators were dedicated to the campaign from the moment the agency had pitched the idea. Able to contribute from the offset was the key. Allowing both agency and the dedicated in house team to work in close conjunction, formulating the exact requirements the client desired into a seamless execution.  The first approach was to understand the nacicity of both the agency and client and start conduction vital R&D.

Once a foundation had been set out for the formulation of the approach of the project from the R&D. We undertook creating the inhalator and the logo within cgi. This allowed for different rotations of both the product and most importantly variations of rotation to the cgi logo which was then formulated into the gentle inhalator mist that is released. The mist and movement was created as a variety of particle simulation which were then combined to create the correct dynamic shape and fitted specific output constraints.

The key to this dynamic piece was then to take footage of a father and daughter shot on croma green background. The talent was extracted from the moving footage and then broken down and simulated into the particle movement. A fine balance of the body movement had to be retained for eligibility as well as breaking down the talents into an eligible particle simulation. Finding this fine balance of storytelling, while integrating the multidisciplines to combine a refined and elegant simulation was key. The piece was constructed in such a way we were able to deliver both digital and print throughout the breadth of the campaign.

Result:

The campaign was a success throughout the entire process. Setting new ground for the client with achievable high-end execution and multiple-platform.
