Brief:
To create a dynamic motion piece which encompassed the perfume bottle Lola and enhancing the brand of Marc Jacobs, while still keeping the gentle approach to colour and lighting from previous campaigns.

Our Role:
Formulating an idea from the brief, we drew up storyboards that conveyed the brand and subtle notes of the perfume itself. Once a strong idea was formulated, we took the storyboard all the way with our in-house art direction through to the production and final colour grading tying the full campaign together.

Production / Solution:
The bottle was modelled with consideration to every inch of its surface. As the animation contained multiple camera angles which would be scrutinising the bottle’s surface, the bottle had to be perfect within its form as well as its textured surfaces and shaders. Soft gentle fluid movement was then approached with three different cameras that allowed for transitions from one camera to another with subtle blending of frames. This formula was undertaken as each component from the sweeping rotating movement of the camera, through to the blend of the frames, all complemented and enhanced the bottle’s shape and presence within the piece.
To finalise the image we constructed a bespoke particle formulae from different controllable attributes. Creating the correct recipe to the simulation was fundamental for the finish and enchantment from gentle camera pans through to the gentle flurry of powdered colour.

Result:
An engaging and exquisite piece that combines cgi, animation and particle simulation to produce a graceful fluidic movement that enhances the product’s presence and saleability.
