The Operators are one of London’s leading creative photographic retouching and CGI studio. Established in 2007, they have rapidly become industry specialists working on worldwide campaigns across print, film and online media – in doing so, The Operators have built an impressive client base, including, leading advertising agencies and award winning photographers.

Development Of Technology – From Still-to-Motion, ‘Image/Motion’

The Operators are committed to developing a portfolio of innovative work that explores the growing mergence of new technologies. Increasingly in the commercial field, photography is evolving from a static print based medium to incorporate motion and become animated stills. It is with the convergence of these disciplines, that we are able to facilitate ‘still-to-motion’ campaigns.

This new arena of ‘still-to-motion’, referred to as, ‘Image/Motion’, has arisen from our research and development of cross platform, post-production technology. This means, for every still brief we work on, we can employ the static components to create a complimentary motion campaign for OOH digital billboards and viral advertising.

Not only does our ‘Image/Motion’ product push the boundaries of the digital medium – it broadens the scope of the photographic output.

Creative Retouching

The Operators specialise in high-end creative photographic retouching for photographers and the media industry. We work from concept to fruition, provide multi-part composites and develop complementary colour palettes or stylizations to suit the brief and realise our clients’ vision.

Our work flow does not differ whether we are working with UK, European, USA or Australia clients. With each project, the client works directly with a dedicated team member, is given a password to log into a secure area – it is here, the ‘work in progress’ files are collated and the comments/amendments are made.

CGI / Animation / Motion

Our services extend to delivering full-media solutions – whether its integrating elements of CGI into moving footage, animation and/or still imagery, we ensure the seamless blending of the creative retouching and supplying a consistent style and quality of work for cross-platform campaigns.

From initial sketches, we can model concepts, help pre-visualise and explore creative ideas. Our highly skilled artists can create convincing modeling, shaders, lighting and environmental scenes, bringing form to life. Once this process is underway, the asset can be taken into different environments, re-positioned or relocated in size / angle and composited into generated backgrounds or photographic HDRI backplates.

Our high-profile commissions are broad based and cover many styles and discipline of work, ranging from, Barclays, Playstation, Samsung, KIA, Timberland, Rolls Royce, Kerrygold, 125 Magazine, Santander, Sky Ride campaigns, Boots, No7 and Volkswagen.
