Brief:

Taking a photographic still life image of watches and magnifying glasses and turning it into a more dynamic cross platform output solution.

Our Role:

The Operators role was to take one photographic still and created a believable motion piece incorporating IMAGEmotion. Taking into consideration the movement through the frame and the magnification of the magnifying glass as the camera moved though.

Production / Solution:

The image was broken down into sequencing components of background, magnifying glasses and watches. The background then had to be extended underneath the magnifying glasses making sure each component seamlessly married up.

Once this was undertaken it allowed for a camera pan to be taken through the image with movement with parallax. The next area that was undertaken was the mimicking of the magnify movement of the magnifying glasses as the camera panned through the image. This had to be a subtle distortion as the image traveled underneath the glass, replicating the qualities of the real world. Other subtitles including the movement of the watch hands were implemented tying the image and realism together.

Result:

The piece is a great example of IMAGEmotion. Creating a believably credible motion piece from one still asset. This technique saves valuable time and budget from having to orchestrate an expensive full video production.

Feedback:

‘The Operators did an amazing job of bringing a still life image of mine to life in this ‘Precision Time’ film, I am extremely impressed. Not only that but The Operators were a pleasure to work with and always professional, I will not hesitate to work with them again on future projects and look forward to doing so.’
